[LM_NET] short story collection advice

I am co-writing a grant with an English teacher to obtain 
funding for short story collections.  We want to purchase 
short story books that will appeal to students from all 
ethnic backgrounds.  For example, I know that Sharon 
Flake's "Who am I without Him"? has been quite popular.  I'd 
welcome innovative suggestions.
