Thank you to Carol Simpson, who offered the only response to my inquiry about editing R-movies for educational use. Carol's response: "Use caution with those companies. Several are targets of copyright infringement suits. None have permission to edit the films, and the copies they sell are illegal. Remember that one of the factors in doing a copyright evaluation is using a copy that is "legally acquired." If you want an expurgated copy that is legal, the ONLY company I know of is Swank. Go to www.swank.com and choose "other" from the options." I have checked with Swank and they offer all 3 of the movies I'm looking for.
