I'm interested in finding the titles of "professional journals / magazines" that
are available (usually they say they cost about $3 per issue but are "offering for
a limited time to educators" a free subscription) either in print or online. These
magazines appear to be research-based journals but in reality are just "fluff"
advertisements. Usually they are filled with "success" stories of schools
implementing new technology or practices and show the advertisement of the same
product on the pages following the article. (Carol Simpson's SLIS classes evaluate
a couple of these types of journals to help future librarians determine what is a
"real professional journal" and what is merely a 40-page fluff advertisement that
is seen by those KEY people in our schools who have access to the purse strings
(usually administrators, tech people, etc.).

If you have seen, use, or examine these types of "journals or magazines" either
online or in print and could give me titles / websites, I'd appreciate it. I will
post a HIT on this one, if anyone is interested.

Thanks!
