Dear Colleagues,

Why not keep them busy with study-related activities?

At Chico H.S., as long as I have been here (11 years) we use the last
three days of the semester for finals. We have a minimum-day, block
schedule with two classes per day, and teachers are expected to prepare
exam-related activities or culminating experiences. All students are
expected to be in their classrooms at this time, not watching movies!

Given the requirements of NCLB, I can't imagine schools willingly giving
up even one day to play, unless it is tied to learning.
