The Chicago Public Schools are in session a full day right up until
Friday, but we don't go back until January 9. We are all looking
forward to the extra week off AFTER all of the holiday hoopla dies
down. We are having an assembly today, with student performances for
the other classes this morning, and for parents this afternoon. Then
tomorrow afternoon we will be having a performance from a dance
troupe, clean-up time, and about 45 minutes at the end of the day for
classroom parties.

I am fortunate in that no one would think to ask for an entertainment
video since our collection is small, and totally curriculum based.
We just don't have anything the kids would consider "fun" except the
occasional entertainment video in French. Since all of our students
study French, those fit the learning objectives of the French
Teacher, who will use them as part of a class occasionally.

Here's hoping that each of you enjoys the time of rest and
relaxation, enjoying the pleasures of whatever holiday you
celebrate. As my cousin used to say when she was about 2 years old,
"Happy to you"
