That is such a great book! I read it last summer....the most recent read (of adult literature) is Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See. Set in China in the 1800's this is a story about 2 girls/women who suffer through foot binding, become 'old sames', learn nushu ( a secret form of women's writing) and rise and fall in class.
