I just happened to stumble on the information about the new Theodor Seuss Geisel Award that is to be presented for the first time at the ALA Midwinter Conference. I haven't heard any discussion of this upcoming award. Does anyone have any information about possible contenders? If I'm reading it right, entries can still be received through next week, Dec. 31st. Must be considered a "beginning reader" and published in 2005. Additional criteria can be found on the web site: www.ala.org/ala/alsc/awardsscholarships/literaryawds/drseussaward/DrSeussAward.htm John Wolfgang, LMS Gilbert Heights School (K-5) Portland, Oregon wolfgang@teleport.com -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
