Our school has been reading for Heifer International's "Read to Feed"
program. One of our Heifer gifts is a hive of bees. A kindergartner
asked me if I wasn't afraid of being stung when I wrapped the hive!

My school has been raising money for Heifer International throughout
December. Last week I talked to all the classes about what farm
animals gave to the people who received them. We noted that every
animal gave babies and fertilizer (manure). This week I was reading
several stories about Hanukkah. I had a menorah sitting on the white
board ledge. As one class came in today, I heard a child say, Oh
look! There's a manure! I had to bite my lip hard to keep from
laughing.
