[LM_NET] Books about learning to read

The ASB class from the local high school is coming to read to our K-6 students.  
Our principal would like them all to read books about learning to read.  I've tried 
searching and all I can come up with are actual books that teach reading.  What I 
want are easy books where the main character learns to read, has trouble reading, 
etc.  The only one I can think of off the top of my head is Thank You, Mr. Falker.  
Do you have any suggestions??
