Dear LM_Net list, The Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes seeks nominations for its 2005 awards. The Barron Prize, founded by young adult author T.A. Barron, honors young people ages 8 to 18 who have shown leadership and courage in public service to people and our planet. Each year, ten national winners each receive $2,000 to support their higher education or their service work. Nomination deadline is April 30. The Barron Prize offers librarians and educators a free set of materials to use in exploring the concept of heroes with their students. Materials include a heroes curriculum, discussion guide, and bibliography. To nominate a young hero or to request a free set of the heroes materials, visit www.barronprize.org. I'd be more than happy to answer any questions. Best regards, Barbara Ann Richman Program Director Gloria Barron Prize for Young Heroes P.O.
