I'm not in a middle school and found that I had to remove GamePro from our
shelves this year. In the past it had been popular with the older boys for
the "cheat sheets" to the games. I used to go through it when it came in to
check for any offensive ads. Usually I'd remove them and put the magazine on
the shelf.

This year I had a parent of a third grader (a teacher in our district)
complain. When I checked the magazine in question, I had to agree and
decided to take it off the shelves. I now give the monthly copies to a
teacher whose son has a degree in gaming. I still keep copies of Nintendo
Power as this magazine doesn't seem to have offensive ads.

This Spring I plan to go to our large B&N to see if there are any magazines
for younger gamers w/o the offensive ads. If not, I will limit my
subscription to Nintendo Power. I feel it is more important to teach our
boys to respect women and stay away from violence. Silly books like
Goosebumps and Captain Underpants don't encourage violence toward women.
