This wasn't posted as a target, but several requested the results, so here are
ideas for
a Mexico booth where students will be rotating roughly every five minutes. I was
asking
for one of our patrons.

1. They could make their own Aqua Frescas (juice drink made from fruit
like
strawberries or pineapples)
2. They could dance the Mexican Hat Dance

Melanie, about 12 years ago we had some of our local Hispanic population come to
our school for Cinco de Mayo and they did dancing and food. Maybe local Mexican
restaurants would donate ingredients to make a soft-shelled taco??? Could have a
food bar type of set-up (if you lunchroom has one of the rolling salad bars??) and
they could go through and follow picture directions on making a soft taco.

I taught the Mexican hat dance (the easy boy's part) to 3rd graders one
year.

Their other activities were making Mexican yarn art (which make take
more than 5 minutes), making liquados (essentially, these are fruit
smoothies), and making pinatas (which presumably took far more than 5
minutes).

Here's a website about Mexican yarn art:

http://www.mexconnect.com/mex_/huichol/huicholart.html

If you chose that project, you could have preprinted images of
something like a bird, a fish, or a sun for the students to choose from. Then
they apply glue to the yarn, outline the image, then fill it in. It's
not too hard, but you might want to try it out first to see if it meets
your needs.

Good luck.

They could perhaps play bingo with pictures of Mexican items.

Younger ones might color some simple pictures.

Have Mexican music playing in the background.
