I have not read the Lemony Snicket series yet and really enjoyed the movie. I knew up front that it took the first three books ... you could really tell that in the movie. There were definitely three distinct parts (which depending on your taste in movies can be a bad or good thing). I loved the scenery - very reminiscent of Edward Scissorhands - that dark Gothic look. The acting was wonderful, too. I wouldn't say it was an excellent movie, but it was certainly very good. I want to read the series now that I have seen the movie.
