For the reasons given by others, money is more useful for overseas
asistance than trying to ship actual stuff.
But a way to involve students without them bringing in their own money
would be to ask the community and local businesses to donate things that
the students could then RAFFLE OFF, or if you get enough stuff
collected, hold a big TAG SALE for the whole community to come and
purchase stuff ... then that money is sent off.
just a thought, good luck!

Subject: [LM_NET] target: tsunami aid for school children

My principal asked me to investigate organizations thta would be willing
to
take canned food, clothing, etc. for the tsunami victims, instead of
money.

I work in a small school, that is not wealthy, and we would prefer to
have
families donate canned food, clothing, etc.

I've tried an online search, but most organizations seem to want money
only.
That's fine on a personal note, but for my school, I think actual
"things"
are better.

Any help would be appreciated.
