[LM_NET] Share: Book on libraries

In conjunction with Andre Taylor's post on the largest
libraries, I wanted to mention a book I use every year
during orientation--The Inside-Outside Book of
Libraries--by Julie Cummins and Roxie Munro.

The book tells about and has drawings of a wide
variety of different types of libraries including a NY
City Public Library branch, the tiny Ocracoke Island,
NC Public Library, prison libraries, a library on an
aircraft carrier, and the Explorers' Club Library in
New York.

It generally sparks a lot of discussion, especially
when I mention how far the miles of shelving in the
LOC would stretch from our school and that the LOC
gets as many new materials in one day as we have in
our whole school media center.
