Dear Middle School librarians: I am looking for advice in regards to spending my budget on updating country books. I have a very small budget. All of the sixth graders in my building do a country research project every year. I subscribe to Culture Grams and update that yearly. I also have an up to date set of encyclopedias. I have the databases eLibrary and Inspire (Indiana). I have a wonderful list of web resources that I give the students and teachers when they start their project. Sould I try to keep as up to date as possible with trade books as well? Or should I just keep the historical aspect when it comes to the trade books. I certainly can't keep up with the web sites and databases that update daily. Should I try? What do all of you do?
