Google Suggest is sure interesting (thanks Sybil for mentioning it!

The idea of dynamically offering search term suggestions is not new
both in fee-based services (Dialog's Expand command and other
databases that have offer "word wheels").

The idea is also not new on the "open web".

Specifically, on the web, you might want to take a look at a news
search engine called Surfwax News that has offered search term
suggestions (based on a controlled vocabulary) for about year.

They called the technology "LookAhead" and I think it's more than
worth a look, something that I think educators might love.

Go to:
http://news.surfwax.com/

enter your search terms(s), do not click enter, and watch the
suggestions appear in the box below.

Very cool!

Btw, AOL's shopping engine, Pinpoint Shopping, has also offered
dynamic search term suggestions for several months.
