When you instruct students on works cited entry - using the MLA format - which publisher gets credit in the entry? Is it the publisher that is that "head" publisher, or is it the publisher that distributes? For example, I am not sure about the following book. The title of the book is Mammals by Pamela Forey and Cecelia Fitzsimons. The title page shows Crescent Publishers. The information on the verso is c. 1996 Atlantis Publications Ltd. and then further down on the same page it states " This 1986 edition published by Crescent Books, distributed by Outlet Book Company, Inc., a Random House Company, 40 Engelhardt Avenue, Avenel, New Jersey 07001." Does Cescent get the credit as the publisher?
