When I taught the book as a classroom teacher I read them the first
chapter
or two (before they discover what a findle is) and had them write and
illustrate a piece about what a frindle was.  It was a RIOT - and they
LOVED writing it.

Aladdin Books/Simon and Schuster, the publisher of FRINDLE, publishes
an
excellent teaching guide to the
book.
