While I know most consider Magic School Bus non-fiction, isn't it really fiction - a MADE UP story with scientific fact included? Kind of like Historical Fiction, which we wouldn't consider putting in the 900's would we? It has been posed to me that Dewey is specifically for the study of FACTUAL information related to a subject (With 398's being study of folklore/customs of course and jokes/I spy falling under Entertainment). So, my question is, how do we teach kids fact/fiction if we don't separate it out, especially in areas of science and history?
