[LM_NET] TAR: Animal husbandry

Dear Netters

 

I got a student request today for the book Animal Husbandry by Laura
Zigman.  I have not read the book, but I have seen the movie that was
based on it.  It seemed to be more for adults than for high school
students.  I found some reviews on Amazon, but they do not really say
what level it is best for, so I come to you all for help.  If you have
read it, do you think it is appropriate for high school students?  We
are not an ultra conservative school and I do not shy away from buying
controversial books. I'm just worried that if it got questioned, without
reviews to help back me, it would be pulled, and what a waste of our
money.  Especially since right now in our area several districts are in
the hot seat for having "questionable" books.  It seems that book
banning is contagious.
