A colleague has asked for help finding a title of a book that was used to help teach students the importance of using context. This book was used by a fourth grade reading teacher (waaaay back in 1991 ;)) to teach her students to read the whole sentence to discover the meaning of a word they didn't know. She definitely remembers "soda pop" as one of the "replaced" words. Instead of using soda pop in the story, another word like "fizzlebing" was used in its place. Other words were substituted, as well, for familiar words the kids would know. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Any title suggestions for similar types of books? Thanks for your help!
