[LM_NET] Book Title needed

Dear Net Friends:
I have a friend who remembers a book from the early 60's and really
wants the title.  Here's what she remembers:
A flock of ducks (?--maybe a different bird) that were migrating and had
to pass through these mountains that clapped, so they had to be careful
about the timing when they went through.
