I think that the person looking for information about gift baskets was
looking for this idea regarding support staff, not school board
members. I think that it is a great one!

> FYI--
> I work in an elementary school. For several years we gave gift
> certificates
> to the custodial staff and the cafeteria staff. The amounts were so
> small
> it was embarrassing. Then a creative teacher came up with this idea,
> which
> we have used for about 5 years now.
> At one time we had 12 people to fund, but it is down to 7 now.
> We give a container of goodies to each person. Here is how it works:
> Money from our "sunshine" fund is used to purchase the container. The
> container has been a laundry basket, a wicker basket, wooden tubs and
> this
> year the metal tubs that are in vogue.
> Each teacher (45 are on faculty) is asked to bring a small gift
> item
> (teacher's choice) to put in the basket. Items have been such things
> as:
> pens, cups, kitchen towels, candy, gum, soft drinks, refrigerator
> magnets,
> coffee.....whatever that teacher's budget allows. The recipient gets a
> large assortment of small goodies.....which is better than a $5
> Blockbuster
> coupon!
> I thought some other school might like to use the idea.
