January 19, 2005 Dee Ratterree, SLMS, P.S. 75 Manhattan dratterree@nyc.rr.com TARGET: Literature suggestions for high-end 4th graders I've been tapped to run an after-school program for 4th graders recommended by their teachers; we'll be looking at literature not usually covered in class. I'm thinking of some classics: short stories by Poe and Conan Doyle, maybe even Huck Finn (I think it's so much better than Tom). Any suggestions, ideas? I don't want to do modern "problem fiction;" I think they'll get exposed enough to that in class curriculum. Is Huck Finn too hard? -------------------------------------------------------------------- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
