I didn't see the original post but since I like to give gift baskets
(they've become a signature with me) I thought I'd add my thoughts to
the pot. I started giving "Pamper Me" baskets to girlfriends turning 40
(and now 50!) which consist of a thick bath towel, candle, relaxing CD,
book of poetry or other thought-provoking verse, and of course oodles of
bath products. For the cooks you know, baking baskets are fun crammed
with baking tools, and all the ingredients for cookies and desserts. We
gave my mother-in-law an Asian cooking basket one Christmas filled with
all the exotic ingredients. Final Exam Survival baskets are fun for the
college-age kids. I fill those with paper, pens, tylenol, and tons of
"munchie" snacks. Naturally, my favorite basket to make and give is a
book basket. I fill it with various books I think the recipient will
like, flavored teas and coffees, and small bags of cookies. Gift
baskets are enormous fun to make and of course they're a lot more
expensive than a conventional gift.....but they're also extremely
thoughtful.

Enjoy,
Lynn Butler
