Here's a good one from my middle school... Some 7th graders were
reading a Shel Silverstein book today and "discovered" a poem that one
of their classmates had "written" last year that their 6th grade
teacher had made a big fuss over. The poem was also published in the
school's literary magazine last year. When the principal found out
about this today, she called the student in and talked to him and gave
him an opening to 'fess up-- which he didn't. So she let him know
he'd been found out. Then she came to the Media Center and asked ME
what I thought the consequences should be. I made a suggestion, but
would be interested in knowing, if anyone else has had to deal with a
similar incident, how it was handled.
