Hi All:
I'm too new to this to know...does federal data exist as to how many computers live
in school libraries? How much A / V equipment is loaned / tracked etc by school
libraries? What effect these items have on education? I know this is difficult to
quantify, but if we gathered information carefully we might be on to something.

I know this is a big goal, but I'm working on setting up electronic usage tracking
in my library now. The software isn't simply there for me, but I could set
something up and get some data by the end of the school year. If we start, we'll
eventually have a great deal of information. Of course, we should be careful how we
plan to gather it and what we ask. I wonder if our collective voice lies in usage
rates and results? Perhaps I have too impersonal an approach?

Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

...BIG EDIT...
Perhaps there is a way that we can let both ISTE and the U.S. Department
of Education know that they are ignoring school libraries in this
important document, the National Education Technology Plan.?

Please, let us all know your thoughts on this topic!
