Dear Group: My Question: I am working on a "Resources for Teachers" page on my library Website. If anyone has a favorite Website with lesson plans or other teacher resources, I would appreciate it if you could send it to me. Responses: One website where I get most, if not all, of my ideas is www.education-world.com. It not only has lesson plans, but journal articles and other resources and you don't have to sign up or pay a fee to use it! http://www.4teachers.org/ http://www.discoveryschool.com/ http://www.inspiringteachers.com/ http://www.nea.org/tips/manage/index.html http://www.internet4classrooms.com/ http://www.a0kteacherstuff.com http://teachers.net/ I have a list of favorite resources on our library page. http://www.region-12.org/our_schools/high_school/library/teacher_resources/index.html I don't know if these will be any use to you, but on my library home page, I have a page of resources for teachers. If you would care to check it out, please feel free. Go to: www.sccatholicschools.org/heelan/library.htm and scroll down to Resouces for teachers. One of my favorite sites is http://eduscapes.com/ I was fortunate to have Annette Lamb as an instructor, and she is as fabulous as her website! There is a little bit of everything on eduscapes, but I especially like http://42explore.com/ I keep our sites for the teachers mostly at http://home.gwi.net/brhs/educ.html I've just put up a web site for our school library with teacher links that might be helpful to you - there's so much out there, it's hard to pick just a few things so the teachers aren't overwhelmed. The url is www.christina.k12.de.us/maclary/library blatant self promotion -- I have lessons & resources for middle & secondary at my site (www.resourceroom.net) leaning towards the LD population. Here are just of my frequently used web sites: http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/ Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators http://www.ala.org/ala/yalsa/booklistsawards/ http://www.noodletools.com/ Used for creating Works cited pages, plus many great links. http://www.teachersfirst.com/readlist.html http://www.iage.com/ Links to many useful teaching sites and directories. I have many of these suggestions and other useful sites I have found on my Web Page at http://www.crcs.k12.ny.us/lib/hs/RESOURCES%20FOR%20TEACHERS.htm . This is a work in progress, so if you are interested, you might want to check back periodically. Thanks to all who responded.
