I have a stamp I had made up that says "Removed from Collection" instead of a Discard stamp. As someone else said, "One man's trash is another man's treasure." We offer them to teachers, then students, then we try to recycle what we can at Sheriff's Youth Camp, landfill, etc. If the book has "no longer correct" information in it...that we discard right off so people aren't reading that. Old books don't circulate, but might have useful information...but if the graphics have a lady in a pill box hat with gloves on, the kids won't take it seriously. Also and old book in good or disrepair will last on an individual's library shelf but not on a school library shelf where it doesn't get the gentlest of handling.
