All,

The great thing about NECC was the location. What better place to tour
and gather information for Constitution Day? My friend, Linda Resch and I
spent the weekend touring the historic district, shooting video, taking
pictures, and gathering ideas and information. We had the good fortune to
meet Mr. Jefferson at the Free Friends Meeting house for a discussion about
the current affairs of 1805. We also met Ben Franklin who agreed to assist
us with developing our lesson about the U.S. Constitution. And finally we
met Betsy Ross who cut a 5 pointed star with one snip. The relatively new
National Constitution Center was awesome, full of multimedia exhibits and a
signing room that brought the individuals who signed the U.S. Constitution
up front and personal. The statues were created as much in the likeness of
the person as possible.

The September/October Cyberbee column in Multimedia and Internet
@Schools magazine is titled, We the People and focuses on the U.S.
Constitution. There will also be a lesson on the Cyberbee site:

I attended the digital image session on Social Studies, the best of any
sessions. I also attended the Apple sponsored podcast - a revival of radio
so to speak over the Internet. It is now fairly easy to deliver your own
content. I think it would be cool to podcast some of the Edison cylinder
records I have along with information about the artist - imagine
rediscovering Harry Lauder, Len Spencer, and Christine Miller (lost in
time). The Library of Congress exhibit was exceptional with several mini
sessions each day.
