The NECC presenter contacted me, before I had a chance to contact her, and apologized for the inadvertent lack of attribution. She is truly a wonderful supporter of school libraries! It was a very positive and sincere message and I want everyone to know that it wasn't a wholesale lifting of graphics, just a couple of graphic examples. Ah, the long reach of LM_Net! I also offered her a suggestion for a solution to the problem of giving access to subscriptions databases. Obviously, posting IDs and passwords is a big NO! Our solution was to use Adobe Acrobat to create ONE password file to all of our databases for student use at home. The password is simple and easy to remember, but a hassle for hackers. I created another password for elementary libraries--the same for all of our elementary school libraries--again simple, but enough to satisfy the distributors of online database resources. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, but I consider the matter resolved.
