My daughter and I are anxiously anticipating HP 6--- and I was just thinking back about how far "we've come" since the first one was published. In 1998, my daughter was in the fourth grade and was caught-up by magic that was Harry Potter. This year my daughter will begin her sophomore year (driver's license, her first car, and all that stuff) and she's hoping that Fed Ex / UPS will deliver her copy Saturday (as promised) before she leaves for a week-long band camp on Sunday! Looking at how this novel has progressed WITH my own daughter, I feel like Harry (and friends) are growing-up with her. I'm tickled that she's still loving the novel and anxiously awaits the series. On a side note: The latest HP will also become available in braille only three days later than the print-- National Braille Press will release the braille edition on July 19th! This is probably the first time in history that a novel has been immediately produced for blind readers at the same time (or near) as it appears in print. Thanks to technology and braille transcribers / proofreaders for making this possible! (Note: the cost is comparable, too!) If you have braille readers in your school, here's information about where to locate your students' copies: http://www.nbp.org/ic/nbp/HALF.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/arts/4642329.stm Enjoy!!
