Very well said. I think that the bottom line is: know your patrons and do what best serves their needs. Do what you need to do to give them a positive library experience so they want to come back. If that means diverting from traditional thinking and teaching, do it. There is not a right or wrong way to do this job. If you are meeting the needs of your patrons that is what is important.
