Career/Vocational Media Specialists/Librarians Needed! Hello, I am a practicum student from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio and I will be receiving my Master's of Library and Information Science in August. Before I complete my degree, I am working on a project that requires me to make some contacts with media/information specialists that work in career/vocational centers. The purpose for this contact is to obtain some valuable information on how your particular media/information center supports the unique "vocational" curriculum as well as integrated academics within the vocational setting. We are also interested in particular print and electronic resources that you have found valuable. I currently work at Polaris Career Center in Middleburg Heights, OH. Since funds are scarce and our media center is undergoing some changes, the administration is considering how the media/information center fits into the mission of a career/vocational center and how it can best serve students and staff members. Please contact me at slynix@polaris.edu or slynix@kent.edu if you would like to participate in a short survey/discussion on this topic. I would appreciate any feedback you can provide on this topic as well as any research you may have read that would support the service of media/information centers in career/vocational settings. Thank you, Mrs. Sarah Lynix Individualized Job Training Coordinator Polaris Career Center (440) 891-7679 -------------------------------------------------------------------- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
