Further to Robert's comments about the Orca Soundings books...
Depending on your particular community, you may want to preview these
books before purchasing all of them, as some of them are maybe too "high
school" in content for some communities. I am at a Catholic JK-gr. 8
school, and have a few of the Orca Soundings books, but have opted not
to purchase all of the titles. My school system's high schools, on the
other hand, have them all, and apparently they are quite popular.
Orca has recently started publishing another set, _Orca Currents_,
aimed at a slightly younger crowd. As with Orca Soundings, these are
books written by well-known (and well-loved) children's/YA authors.
Although I haven't personally seen them yet, I do have them on order,
and expect that they will be every good as the Orca Soundings titles.
