A teacher was recommending this story but could not remember the title or the author. The teacher thinks the story could be a Russian or Jewish tale. The story is about a man who has a coat. Something happens to it (like a rip or something), so the man makes it into a jacket or a vest. After that it becomes a tie. Then, it's changed into a handkerchief. The lesson behind the story is to not waste things. Anyone have any idea what the title of this book is or the author's name? Thanks for your help.
