Thanks for your thoughts Adam. Maya Angelou is one of my sheroes.... I have
seen her 6 times now and have always been transformed. I, too, didn't speak
for many years (block stutter) so I can affirm the power of reading aloud -
for me it was becoming an actor that "cured" my stutter.

One of the last times I was in Ms Angelou's presence I got bold enough to
ask her a question backstage. I asked her - "why does the caged bird sing" -
and her response lives in my heart. She looked directly at me - smirked and
said --" Because he can, dear heart, because he can." I have never forgotten
that advice.
