Hi everyone, I am a former classroom teacher, now a graduate student working towards my masters degree in library/media. I really enjoy reading all of the messages. They are very helpful! I am doing my thesis on the importance of LMCs in alternative education in Michigan - a study similar to the other state studies showing the importance of libraries in education. Since these studies link libraries to better reading scores, I was wondering does anyone know of studies or articles stating that reading ability is linked to academic achievement. I know we all know this is true as a matter of common sense but what is the research? Any articles or websites that you know of would be very helpful. I will post a Hit for everyone to read.
