[LM_NET] Target: ELEM: What to read after Magic Treehouse

Hello,
I need help, as usual...I have looked in the Archives and have not found exactly 
what I want...Parents just came in (parent conference day) and said their son is in 
1st grade and is an extremely good reader. He has almost finished the Magic 
Treehouse series and they want to know what he should read next...Preferably a 
series, and with historical or science elements. If no series comes to mind, then 
historical fiction appropriate to him.
