E.R. Frank's novel, _Life is Funny_ is being challenged in our district.
It was recently pulled from the Merced City School District (one of
our feeder districts)-- apparently without following any kind of
established procedure. I know our district used their library plan as a
model way back when and I am pretty sure they have a procedure but,
according to news reports (see link below), the book was pulled
summarily. Our district is going to go through the proper procedures
and the committee is having it's first meeting today. I have reviews
but I am interested in hearing from any districts who have faced
challenges on this title. I would like to know what resulted from the
challenge and what the committee said about the book.
