Here is the short version... I personally would THROW them away! You can check with School Library Journal for exact info (or check back copies) but I believe the Valuetales were given the "Billy Budd Button" for the worst in children's literature by Slj back in the early 1980's. (That butterfly is a good example of why the series "won" the award.) I would never buy them for my library back then and would not accept them now. IMHO, toss them!
