Dear LM_NET Colleagues, This is a last-minite reminder about the very important librarian technology survey that is online (See below.) It is from Sally Brewer, of ISTE's Special Interest Group for Media Specialists. Please do all you can to complete this 15-minute survey. It will provide important data on the role of school librarians in using and teaching with technology. The deadline is coming up pretty soon. See the anouncement below, or go directly to the survey at: http://www.soe.umt.edu/lmetechsurvey Peter Milbury, for LM_NET pmilbury@iis.syr.edu ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Mon, 14 Feb 2005 10:37:55 -0700 From: "Brewer, Sally" <Sally.Brewer@MSO.UMT.EDU> Dear LM_NET Colleagues, No school library media specialist will dispute the fact that technology has become an essential part of the library media center. Now, media specialists are playing a wider role in technology school wide, including planning and purchasing technology resources, as well as training staff and students to use these resources effectively. The International Society for Technology in Education's (ISTE) Special Interest Group for Media Specialists and researchers from School Library Journal are launching a survey to better understand how the role of the K-12 library media specialist has changed with the expanded use of technology. These findings will be reported in June at the 2005 National Education Computing Conference in Philadelphia, in the June 2005 issue of School Library Journal, and on LM_NET. We're asking for 15 minutes of your time to complete the survey, which is available online until March 10, 2005 at http://www.soe.umt.edu/lmetechsurvey The form may be completed online or printed out and mailed to Sally Brewer at the address below or e-mailed as an attachment to her. Please share this information with other school library media specialists in your district and encourage their participation in this important research effort. Thank you in advance for your participation. Very truly yours, Sally Brewer, Ed.D. and Peggy Milam, Ed.S., researchers Evan St. Lifer, Editor, School Library Journal --- Sally Brewer, Ed.D. Assoc.
