I recommended "The Tale of Despereaux" to a read-a-loud for the fifth grade class and they loved it. They studied voice and character development, and the teacher applauded me for recommending such a fantastic book. Now the teacher is wondering what to follow it with since it was such an outstanding book. I feel like it should be just as outstanding as "The Tale of Despereaux"! Anyone have any ideas?
