One of the good (?) things about creating a kids language version of the DDC "10's" is that I'm examining my collection and finding some things that need to be reclassified. I have joke books in both 808.88 and 818. The more I read my Dewey books (both the abridged and full DDC21), the more confused I get. Does anyone have a "plain English" explanation and a definitive answer as to which DDC number to use? Anne Oelke Library Media Specialist, pK-12 Cambria-Friesland School District 410 E.
