I only have my National Board Certification, not my Masters, but I will
tell you that it is the best professional development I ever
participated in. It really validates you as a teacher more than a
librarian. I would recommend it to everyone. Yes, it does take a lot of
time and commitment. I had 3 teenagers in the house and did not loose my
mind.

Different states and districts do different things. In Maryland we
receive additional pay from the state and the county for the length of
the certificate.

If you want to ask me any questions feel free to e-mail me off list.

How do you compare obtaining your master's degree with obtaining your
national board certification? Has anyone done both? How does your
school districts handle National Board Certification - any extra money
given for this?
