Hi all, My original target was asking for preferred dictionaries for middle school classrooms. I received two responses. Thanks to Janie and Barb for sharing the following information: Merriam Webster's Collegiate Dictionary, 11th edition. Purchased them from Baker and Taylor for $13.75 apiece instead of the much higher price in the catalogs. Our state University Interscholastic League uses the Merriam-Webster Intermediate Dictionary for the UIL Dictionary Skills event, so that's what we use for 6th grade. The Merriam-Webster School Dictionary--for 7th and 8th grades, and that is one that is highly recommended for our state test in writing. Readingly yours, Chris Christine L.
