I just read the HIT on the archives from April 2004 on this topic. It was very helpful to me because the possibility of a leveled book room is being investigated here. However, I have a very important follow up question. Assuming you have done or could do quantitative research or at least evaluation of the benefits to students: Is it worth it (to set up a book room - regardless of whether or not it comes under the ownership/workload of the librarian)? Does it get nearly-constant use so as to support the outlay of time, energy and money?
