[LM_NET] Young and Old Man and the Sea

In preparation for visiting author, Rodman Philbrick, I'm wondering if anyone has 
drawn comparisons between Philbrick's Young Man and the Sea and Hemingway's Old Man 
and the Sea.  Our eighth graders read OMATSA, and we'd like examples of like 
symbolism, parallel conflicts, etc.  Thanks in advance for any help you might offer.
