Dear LM_Netters, I've been working with some of our Friends of the Library to plan our first TV Turnoff Week for the last week in April-actually only from Monday through Friday. Our elementary librarian just came to me after an elementary assembly and reported that the response to her spiel about it was very negative and that she thinks we should only do it for one or two days. I'd like to try for the entire 5 days and see what the response is. Am I nuts and setting us up for failure? Should I have a "graduated" program, that is, people could choose fewer days? Or, as one of you sent me, allow kids to watch 30 minutes per day for a lesser prize? I find the kids' response discouraging! Any comments are most welcome.
